Sea scout raises hundred with Ben Nevis adventure

A YOUNG Sea Scout raised more than £900 by climbing Britain’s biggest mountain.

Dean Moore, 12, of Gainsborough Avenue, Tilbury trained for months to make the 4,409 ft climb up Ben Nevis in Scotland in August.

He made the hike in order to raise money for the Tilbury Sea Scouts.

It took Dean and his family five hours to climb the mountain and another four hours to descend.

Dean said: “I’d like to thank my family, friends and neighbours for their sponsorship with special thanks to Stema Shipping and R & M Duffy for their very generous donations.”
