Thurrock Councillors need site visit before making a decision about Kings Farm

FOUR planning applications for Kings Farm in Orsett have been deferred until Thurrock Council’s Planning Committee have made a site visit.

With the first proposal the applicant, Mr Holding, is seeking retrospective planning permission to use land on the north of the site at Parkers Farm Road to station a mobile home for ancillary staff accommodation.

He has also made applications to change the use of the land to the north of the existing aircraft hangar to form part of the residential curtilage, to change the existing grass runway to a hard surfaced runway, and to build a ground floor and two storey side extension and ground floor rear extension.

The officers recommendation is that the Planning Committee refuses all four applications, but at the meeting on Thursday Councillor Gerard Rice proposed a site visit before the committee made their decision, a move which was supported by the rest of the committee.
