A NEW cobblers shop has been opened in Stanford-le-Hope.Rushed Off Your Feet was opened at 8 Kings Parade in February by Emma Lloyd, 30, and her partner Dave Hill, 41, and has been a roaring success.
The shop specialises in shoe repairs, key cutting, watch repairs and engraving.
Emma, who has been in the cobbling trade for 10 years, said: “We feel we have a unique selling point in that I am a female shoe repairer.
“Shoe repairing is a very male dominated industry and it is very unusual to have a woman repairing shoes.”
Emma, who is expecting a child with Dave at the end of the month, has been training him to repair shoes.
She added: “We very often get customers in asking if ‘the man is in to do the shoes’ and they are surprised when I say ‘it’s me’.
