Texaco garage raise cash for Christine Willet trust

THE Texaco garage on Daneholes Roundabout in Grays has raised £2500 for cancer charity the Christine Willett Trust.

A collection box, which has been on the counter since 2001, has generated £500, while staff at the garage have been asking customers who do not want to collect Texaco Star Reward Points for fuel to donate them to the Trust instead, raising an additional £2000.

The Christine Willet Trust raises funds to get new cancer equipment for hospitals in Essex.

It was set up by Colin Willett from Bulphan in memory of his wife Christine who died of cancer in 1993.

Colin thanked the staff at Texaco for the donation saying: “This has been a great help to our fundraising.”
