ASBI man, Anthony Barnard, gets prison sentence

FOLLOWING the granting of an Anti-Social Behaviour Injunction against four people for nuisance caused in Church Street, Grays, last month, one of them was back in court today.

Anthony Barnard, 43, was arrested inside 36 Church Street on Thursday October 30, having gone there in contravention of the injunction.

In front of His Honour Judge Brooks at Basildon County Court, Barnard admitted beaching the injunction.

He was sentenced to one day’s imprisonment, which he had already served, and was released.

The judge made it clear to Barnard that if he were to breach the injunction in any way for a second time the punishment would be much more severe.
