Bukky Okunade To Face The Boot?

Speculation has again arisen over the future of Tilbury Councillor Bukky Okunade.

A recent comment posted on a Gazette web story, thought to be a leak from a Labour Party insider, has again brought into the spotlight the future of Ms Okunade.

Information passed on to Council Watch suggested that Carl Morris was furious that his Councillor for Tilbury Riverside failed to attend this months recent Remembrance day activities giving The British National Party's Councillor for the same ward, Emma Colgate, who did attend, an opportunity to make political gains out of Ms Okunades failure to represent her ward constituents by her absence.

Whispers in halls suggest African Councillor Bukky Ockunade is to be deselected because Labour feel that Africans don't win them votes anymore in Tilbury.

So you can guess why she is back among African issues and snubs Tilbury.

It is believed, unbelievably, that former Independent candidate June Brown has been approached to replace ms Ockunade in the 2010 council elections, even after the way labour treated her. .

After all those years service June, don't let the Labour Party make a mug out of you again.

  1. This story is a load of bollocks.

If Labour drop Bukky in favour of a white candidate they know they will lose the African Vote which means they lose. Simple as.

Its not about her colour it about competence and the willingness to do the job properly.
White or black she has missed three chances to speak for her ward constitutes at council meetings, snubbed her wards Remembrance memorial but then turns up at an event for World Aids Day that was not held in her ward.
All this proves is that Whatever her colour, she is incompetent and not a very good ward councillor and has duped the tilbury electorate into voting for her.

I have to agree with you on most things but the Labour party selected Bukky Ockunade and paul attar ( who could not speak english) for their colour to win favour with Africans in Tilbury, which in my book is dam racist by any standard but your vocal point is about not representing your ward constitutes which i again agree with you she doesn't do . We on St Chad's ward also have a councillor Richard Bingley who also has missed three opportunities to speak for us, his ward constituents at council meetings, one meeting I've read while in america campaigning for Barack Obama this to me shows were his priorities lay and i voted for him but not again if they are getting paid from council tax money we constituents should come first.

The three communist labour councillors came out in the gazette a few months ago spouting about how Tilbury is the most neglected part of thurrock and if my memory is correct the labour party have been representatives of Tilbury in council for 30 odd year along with MP's, so its been Labour communist councillors who have neglected it and still are, that is why i used to vote conservative but have now realised they are just as liberal and voting them will change nothing.

  6. Except for emma colgate there all in it for the money not to look after the mugs who voted them in .

Only a BNP vote is a vote for local people.

Something is going on with all this whispering and I don't know how up front it is as I have herd that the blacks are going to put up their own African dependent candidate so Labour may have already lost the African Vote hence getting rid of Mrs Ockunade .

  9. Yet another ex-Labour town councillor in the East Midlands has joined the BNP. Paul Harford, a Labour councillor for 14 years, made the announcement at the inaugural meeting of the new Bolsover BNP group on Thursday night in Langwith.

Mr Harford said he had been a member of the Labour Party for 18 years, but “they no longer represent the British people. It is time the hard working taxpaying people of Britain could vote for a party that puts their interests first.”

She has to take it. She cannot give it away either. All she can do is acknowledge it's too much.

So far she is the only one to do so.
