Council initiative to ease summer boredom

BOREDOM is certainly not on the agenda if Thurrock Council can help it.

Thurrock Council’s Cabinet member for Children’s Services, Coun Sue MacPherson is endorsing the council’s Extended Services Team who have put together a wide range of activities across the borough throughout the summer school break.

On Thursday July 31 Coun MacPherson visited one - the Jules et Lis out of school club based at the St Cedd’s church hall in Cramavill Street, Grays.

She joined more than 20 young people at the centre and said: "It’s great to see the children enjoying safe, stimulating fun.

"There is so much going on around Thurrock this summer, there’s no excuse for children complaining they’re bored."

The Jules et Lis club is open from 8.30am to 5.30pm five days a week through the summer.

Usually based at Tudor Court School in Chafford Hundred, it moved this summer because of building work at the school.
