Motorcyclist Airlifted to Hospital after Collision in Grays

A MOTORCYCLIST was airlited to hospital yesterday evening after being seriously injured in a collision in Grays.

An ambulance response car arrived within five minutes of the the incident being reported yesterday at about 5.45pm on Sunday October 26.

An ambulance, ambulance officer and the Coastguard's Sea King helicopter also went to the scene.

An ambulance spokeswoman said: “Two motorbikes had collided in Long Lane, near the junction with Blackshots Lane in Grays.

“One biker, a man believed to be in his 20s, suffered serious injuries and was unconscious for a few minutes.

"Ambulance crews quickly reached the scene and assessed the patient.

“They administered pain relief and treated him for fractures to his left leg and right wrist as well as for hypothermia.”

The patient was airlifted to Queens Hospital in Romford, where medics had been alerted to his arrival.
