A BIKER killed after his motorcycle collided with a lorry has today been named.
Jonathan Blackburn, 26, was travelling along the slip road to join the A1089 Dock Approach Road in Tilbury when the crash happened.
Mr Blackburn of Gunning Road, Grays lost control of his blue Suzuki which crashes into a white container lorry also travelling along the A1089 towards Tilbury.
Despite the best efforts of police and paramedics, who raced to the scene, Mr Blackburn sadly died from his injuries.
The lorry driver, a 42-year-old man from Darent in Kent, was uninjured.
Police are now appealing for witnesses to the crash.
Roger Grimwade of Essex Police said: “Although a number of people did stop at the scene, police are appealing for any witnesses to the collision or events just prior to it, to contact them.”
Police closed the A1089 for five hours, following the crash at 1.15pm on Sunday, while investigators combed the scene for clues.
