Tilbury Power Station make uniform donation

STAFF at a charity shop have been treated to new uniforms thanks to a donation by Tilbury power station.

Second Generation, in Princess Margaret Road, East Tilbury, is part of the Thurrock Re-Use project and specialises in restoring second-hand household equipment to sell on to people on low incomes.

The charity also works closely with people with learning difficulties to offer them training and the opportunity to gain qualifications.

The newly-designed uniforms for the staff and volunteers consist of fleeces and high-visibility jackets.

Davis Lawrence, the charity’s project manager, said: “Second Generation is a fantastic charity offering great opportunities to local people from all walks of life.

“It’s good to know we have the support of Tilbury power station.”

He added: “During the past year, the charity has been supported by the kind people of Thurrock donating goods and giving in excess of 1,700 volunteer hours.

“This has helped to support over 900 families in Thurrock furnish their homes with good quality, low-cost furniture and electrical goods.”
