The Thurrock’s Got Talent competition is back at the Billet following on from its success this summer.

The Thurrock’s Got Talent competition is back following on from its success this summer.

The competition is once again being organised by the Stanford Forum on Saturday November 15 at the Crooked Billet in Billet Lane, Stanford-le-Hope.

The competition will be similar the last one, which was held in June, with up to 10 entrants competing for a first prize of £50 and a chance to take part in the Grand Final in April 2009.

The overall winner will be offered a spot on The 2009 Stanford Music Festival.

There will be a panel of four judges and a live band during the interval.

Forum member Terry Piccolo said: “The evening is set to be a fantastic family night out.

“The last contest saw dancers and a wide range of singing styles, the eventual winner being Shana Elliott-Hayers, who has since gone on to work for Thurrock Music Services encouraging pupils in some of the local schools to follow their dream and become singers.”

If you would like to enter you can contact the organisers by calling 07530 949231or logging onto info@stanfordcf.org.uk.

It costs £5 to enter and groups are not permitted.

Alternatively you can go to the Crooked Billet and see the cream of Thurrock talent first hand. Tickets cost £2 on the door.

All the money raised on the night will go towards keeping The Stanford Music Festival 2009 a free event.
