Purfleet gets ready for Christmas

A TWENTY foot tall living Christmas tree was erected in the grounds of St Stephen's Church on London Road in Purfleet today.

Youngsters from the Stay and Play playgroup joined members of the Purfleet Village Community Forum, who purchased the tree, to watch it being unloaded and planted.

Thurrock MP Andrew Mackinlay is due to switch the lights for the tree on during a ceremony to which all Purfleet residents are welcome on the evening of Thursday, December 11 at 6.30pm.

Christmas lights have been put up in the village and will be switched on by the forum on Tuesday, November 25
